XVII Century

Vusio, a defense against pirates

This fortress was built in the 17th Century for defensive purposes against pirates. It was home to the Vusio family – a family of sailors, ship owners, captains and warriors.

1923

Pansion Vidošević

When the first package tourists started to arrive in Bol in 1923, they stayed at the Vidošević guesthouse, which was located in a part of today’s Hotel Kaštil.

1947

Establishment of Hotel Zlatni Rat

After World War II, the company ‘Zlatni Rat’ was established and the company took over the Vidošević guesthouse, changing its name to Hotel Zlatni Rat.

1969

Acquisition of Kaštil Vusio

The Vusio fortress becomes part of Hotel Zlatni Rat.

1970

Hotel Name Change

After the necessary changes were made to Kaštil Vusio to turn it into part of the existing hotel, the newly established hotel is named Kaštil.
