Hotel Kaštil is partially located within a baroque fortress, the only preserved fortress in Bol. The fortress was built in the 17th Century and was used for defensive purposes against pirates. It was home to the aristocratic Vusio family - a family of sailors, ship owners, captains and warriors.

Get to know Bol
Zlatni Rat is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Croatian coast and since 2015 it has been listed among the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world.Nature built it as small pebbles settled and built up around underwater reefs. It extends 500 meters into the sea. Zlatni rat is located 1.2km from the center of Bol and can be reached by car, by tourist road train, taxi boat or on foot.
Bol is the oldest coastal village on the island of Brač. It is situated on the secluded southern slopes, below the ‘Bolske krune’ (the Crown of Bol) and ‘Vidova Gora’ (Mount St. Vid – 778 m), the highest point of all the Dalmatian islands.
Bol was once a settlement of winegrowers, fishermen and sailors but, today, it is primarily a tourist destination. The local people are open and original.
